The District of Columbia is particularly vulnerable to flooding given its proximity to two tidal rivers. AECOM has been supporting the DC Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) in the design and development of an Integrated Flood Model (IFM), which leverages existing hydrodynamic data from DOEE, DC Water, USACE, FEMA, and other sources to better understand the mechanisms and extents of flooding from riverine, tidal, and rainfall/drainage sources. This presentation will provide background into the development of the IFM, its use in building resilience to flooding hazards, and prioritizing capital improvements throughout the district.

Additionally, the panelists will discuss other existing and future projects that will enable the district to provide a more resilient urban environment for its residents.

REGISTRATION: Students - $5; Members -$10, Non-Members -$15

Professional Development Hour (PDH) certificates provided for attendance.
