The 8th National Capital Region (NCR) Water Resources Symposium will be held on April 3, 2020 at the University of the District of Columbia. This one-day symposium brings together experts from governmental agencies, academia, the private sector, and non-profits to discuss challenges and opportunities for sustainable management of water resources and infrastructure in the region, as well as nationally and internationally.

The morning plenary session agenda consists of a keynote address and invited panel. The theme of 2020 NCR Water Resources Symposium is "Water Management in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Digital Solutions & Smart Technology Applications." Our keynote speaker is James P. Cooper, PE, Intelligent Water Lead at Arcadis.

 

Abstracts are solicited for oral (afternoon sessions) and poster presentations in all areas of water resources management (regional, national and global) and water infrastructure:

•  Emerging technologies and data management systems
• Climate change and water resources
• Watershed & groundwater studies
• Innovations in water & wastewater treatment technologies
• Water reuse
• Water management and cybersecurity
• Socio-economics and water policy
• Other topics relevant to water resources and water infrastructure

 Submitted abstracts should include:

•  Abstract title
• Preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster)
• Author and co-author(s) name(s)
• Author's and co-author(s)' titles and affiliations
• E-mail address for contact person
• Abstract (150-200 words)

 Student Poster Competition

AWRA-NCRS will offer 2 awards ($100 and $50) and certificates to winners of the student poster competition. To qualify, a student should be the poster first author and the poster presenter.
