Alex Lan, MPH – PFAS and the Safe Drinking Water Act
Physical Scientist at Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water, U.S. EPA
Alex Lan is a Physical Scientist and policy analyst in EPA's Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water. He currently works on drinking water issues relating to PFAS. Previously, he served as project lead on EPA's Net Zero Initiative, focusing on cross-media issues in community sustainability, human health and resiliency. He has worked with a range of stakeholders to promote and transfer sustainable practices to communities across the U.S. Alex received a Master of Public Health in environmental health science and policy from the George Washington University.

Chris Curran, PE – Repelling the Repellent: PFAS Treatment & Management
Associate Vice President, AECOM-Water, Northeast Region
Mr. Curran has more than 23 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, environmental remediation, industrial wastewater, and water resources engineering. He holds a BSCE in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Penn State University. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Curran has been successfully involved with many planning through detailed design and construction support projects for the removal of PFAS compounds from potable water, impacted groundwater, leachate and stormwater systems. He presently leads the national PFAS practice for AECOM's water business line.

Tolessa Deksissa, PhD – Monitoring PFAS in the Environment
Director, Water Resources Research Institute, University of the District of Columbia
Tolessa Deksissa is a Director of the Water Resources Research Institute and Professional Science Master's in Water Resources Management in the College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia. He specializes in water quality assessment and modeling. He is currently establishing a nationally accredited Environmental Quality Testing Laboratory with NELAC standard in testing inorganic and organic contaminants in water and solids including PFAS. Tolessa graduated from the Ghent University, Belgium where he received his Master's and PhD in Environmental Science and Technology.
