Call for Abstracts
2023 National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium

The 11th National Capital Region Water Resources Symposium, Equitable and Resilient Water Resource Management and Practices, will be held April 14, 2023 at the University of the District of Columbia. This one-day symposium brings together experts from governmental agencies, academia, the private sector, and nonprofits to discuss challenges and opportunities for equitable and resilient management and practices of water resources and infrastructure in the region, nationally and internationally.


Abstracts are solicited for oral and poster presentations in all areas of water resources management and water infrastructure including but not limited to:

        • Climate change and water resources (including water & energy nexus)
        • Flood risk management
        • Watershed science, groundwater studies, water ecosystems
        • Drinking water accessibility
        • Innovations in water treatment technologies
        • Uses of alternative water sources in urban settings
        • Emerging smart technologies and data management systems
        • Water management and cybersecurity
        • Socio-economics and water policy
        • Social justice and equitable water management
        • Outreach and education
        • Green infrastructure implementation

 

Abstract preparation and submission guidelines:

        • Abstract title
        • Preferred mode of presentation (oral or poster)
        • Author and co-author(s) name(s)
        • Author’s and co-author(s)’ titles and affiliations
        • E-mail address for corresponding author
        • Abstract (150-200 words)

Abstract submission deadline is January 11, 2023. Authors of abstracts accepted for presentation will be notified by January 30, 2023. Symposium full agenda and registration information will be posted on AWRA-NCRS website: http://www.awrancrs.org/.

Student Poster Competition: Each year, the AWRA-NCRS offers 2 awards ($100 and $50) and certificates to winners of the poster competition. To qualify, a student should be the poster first author and the poster presenter.
